MEET THE TEAM

CURTIS EKMARK
Curtis Ekmark has represented community associations since 1993 and currently represents some of the premier communities in Arizona. He played basketball at and earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and received an academic scholarship to attend Pepperdine University School of Law. While at Pepperdine, he was a member of the Dean’s List, the Law Review and the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity. He was named the Terry Giles Scholar and the Odell McConnell Scholar before graduating cum laude. Prior to graduation, he served as a legal intern for Judge John L. Coffey on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. Upon graduation from law school in 1992, he accepted a judicial clerkship with Chief Justice Roland B. Day on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Curtis is a three-time Past President of the Central Arizona Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, a member of the College of Community Association Lawyers, and has Chaired the Legislative Action Committee numerous times. He has been recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America for his high caliber work in the practice area of Community Association Law. He is President of both the Scottsdale Council of Homeowners Associations and West Valley Homeowner Associations. He frequently lectures on association issues, writes columns in local publications, and has appeared on various radio and television newscasts and programs.

COURTNEY PECOR
Courtney Pecor played basketball at the University of Connecticut, where she won two national championships. She transferred home to Arizona State, where she became the only person ever to captain a team to the Sweet 16 while attending law school. She was named the Charles T. Stoner National Scholar Athlete of the Year. She made the Dean’s List and was a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar before graduating from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. After playing a season of professional basketball in Europe, she passed the bar exam on the first try and started her own law firm representing community associations. She is excited to join forces with Curtis Ekmark, widely considered the preeminent community association attorney in Arizona.
